A North Hollywood nightclub worker shot himself to death during a game of Russian roulette in the back office of the club, Los Angeles police said Saturday.

Mark Raymond Keller, 34, was working in a rear office at the Hollywood-A-Go-Go, 10542 Victory Blvd., about 11:15 p.m. Friday when he tried to impress a friend by putting one bullet in the chamber of his .357 revolver, spinning the cylinder and placing the gun to his head, Sgt. Ike Langsam said.

Keller pulled the trigger once and the gun did not fire, police said. But the gun went off when Keller pulled the trigger a second time, Langsam said. Keller was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.
