Diamond Bar : Density Limits Unchanged
The General Plan Advisory Committee last week kept density restrictions of 16 to 20 housing units per acre in the Tres Hermanos Ranch development, despite a consultant’s proposal for up to 40 units per acre.
The consultant, Kent Norton of Rancho Cucamonga-based Planning Network, had suggested the increase to encourage development of affordable housing. But the committee decided instead to require all developers to make 10% of their developments affordable or pay a fee to the city that will be used to build affordable housing.
After the committee finishes going over revision proposals, there will be public hearings before the plan goes to the Planning Commission and then to the City Council for a final vote.
The committee’s next meeting is 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the South Coast Air Quality Management District Building, 21865 E. Copley Drive.
