Nolan Ryan Will Be Inducted Into the Angels’ Hall of Fame

Nolan Ryan, who pitched four of his seven no-hitters while with the Angels, will be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame June 16 at Anaheim Stadium, before the Angels play the Texas Rangers.

Ryan, who will be 45 on Jan. 31, pitched for the Angels from 1972-79. He remains the club’s career leader in six categories, including victories (138), strikeouts (2,416) and innings pitched (2,182). He was 12-6 for the Rangers last season and ranked among the league leaders with a 2.91 earned-run average and 203 strikeouts. His 5,511 career strikeouts is the highest total in major league history.

Ryan will be the fifth member of the Angels’ Hall of Fame, following Bobby Grich, Jim Fregosi, Don Baylor and Rod Carew.
