Reward Offered for Leads in Holdup

TGI Friday’s in Torrance is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two robbers who shot a man as he and a woman were leaving the restaurant two weeks ago.

“The main reason we posted the reward is that we wanted to send a clear message out to potential criminals: We are not going to stand by and let it happen again,” General Manager Jeff Peters said.

Harold Murdock III, 27, of Rolling Hills Estates and Vanessa Dodson, 22, of Torrance were attacked on the night of Jan. 5 while walking to their cars outside TGI Friday’s at 23300 Hawthorne Blvd., police said. Murdock is the son of Rolling Hills Estates Councilwoman Jody Murdock.

After taking Murdock’s wallet and Dodson’s purse, the two gunmen shot Murdock in the left leg and foot, Torrance Police Sgt. Mark Wittenberg said. Dodson was uninjured. They fled, possibly in a silver or light-blue compact car with tinted windows.
