VENTURA : Automatic-Weapon Purchaser Arrested
A Ventura man is being held without bail on suspicion of attempted murder, Ventura police said Saturday.
Jammer Singh, a 25-year-old Malaysian citizen, is also being held on suspicion of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm, possession of an automatic weapon, and possession of a firearm with intent to commit a serious crime, police said.
A weeklong investigation concluded at 10:50 a.m. Friday with the arrest of Singh, who allegedly tried to purchase a silenced, fully automatic firearm from undercover officers, police said.
Singh is suspected of purchasing the weapon to kill someone, but police on Saturday said they could not identify the intended victim.
