Iran Lifts Ban on Car Imports: Iran has lifted a 10-year ban on imported autos, and the country’s official news agency quoted the government as saying that up to 10,000 will be imported in the next two months. The Islamic Republic News Agency said the makes that the government will allow in include Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Honda, Subaru and Toyota. The developments come as President Hashemi Rafsanjani works to rebuild bridges with the West.
