One inmate was injured Monday during a race-related brawl at a county jail in Lancaster, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.

The fight began shortly before 1 p.m. when a black inmate moved to the front of the lunch line, Deputy Irma Becerra said. A Latino inmate challenged him and a fight erupted between 12 Latino and 18 black inmates.

The brawl lasted about two minutes and ended when 15 deputies entered the yard, Becerra said. No force was used.
