HUNTINGTON BEACH — An 88-year-old Huntington Beach man died Monday night after his bicycle collided head-on with a pickup truck, authorities said.
Police said Fred Kramer was riding on the north side of Atlanta Drive, heading east, shortly after 2 p.m. He then crossed to the south side of the street as he approached Beach Boulevard and collided with a westbound pickup truck.
Kramer was taken by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange with head injuries, Lt. Patrick Gildea said. He died hours later.
Gildea said that the truck driver was not injured and that no one has been cited.
