NHL ROUNDUP : Devils Finally Win at Capital Centre

The New Jersey Devils were getting so they hated to play at Capital Centre in Landover, Md. They had won only four of 33 games there against the Washington Capitals.

But two rookies from the former Soviet Union were unaware of the problems and led the Devils to a 5-2 victory over the Capitals Friday night.

Valeri Zelepukin had two goals and an assist and Alexander Semak had his first NHL goal. Zelepukin has six goals in 14 games.

The Devils built a 5-0 lead in the first 31 minutes.

The Devils had not won at Washington since Feb. 9, 1990.

Calgary 3, San Jose 2--Thoren Fleury scored his 26th goal of the season in the third period to lead the Flames at Daly City, Calif.
