Pedestrian Killed on I-5

An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night on southbound Interstate 5 in Oceanside by a vehicle that fled the scene, the California Highway Patrol said.

The hit-and-run occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at the intersection of I-5 and California 76, according to a CHP dispatcher.

The vehicle is a dark-colored van whose front end was damaged in the collision, she said.
