Wrong Cuts

I would like to express my gratitude to the San Diego County supervisors for tossing a bunch of crazy people into the streets, thereby trimming millions of dollars from the budget. After all, times are tough, money is scarce and the mentally ill don’t pay taxes. Why should they have free meals and a place to flop at a nice hospital like county psychiatric?

Most of those loonies will find some comfortable abode in some culvert where they will be out of sight. I am sure they will receive many helpful survival tips from thousands of their colleagues already out there. Since they are incapable of caring for themselves, they will certainly live short, miserable lives whose brevity will further enhance the county’s economy. If a few of them run amok, we can count on the police to weed them out.

It makes me feel good all over to know our supervisors can think clearly when the going gets tough.
