A reward was being established Monday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a gunman who wounded an off-duty sheriff’s deputy in a shootout outside a Music Plus store in Norwalk.
Deputy Troy Riemersma, 26, was in good condition after last Thursday’s shooting, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Benita Hinojos. Riemersma was shot in the leg and back about 7:30 p.m. as he left the store at Rosecrans Avenue and Pioneer Boulevard, authorities said. The deputy confronted someone who was breaking into his car, and the two exchanged shots, authorities reported.
A reward was being established by Music Plus and West Venture Developments, Hinojos said.
