Glendale : Robbers Terrorize Family

Share

Police searched this week for four men who wore military fatigues and surgical gloves as they terrorized five members of a Glendale family and stole property valued at more than $300,000.

Two men accosted a resident at gunpoint outside his house in the 3300 block of Stephens Circle about 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 28, police said. The gunmen, joined by two accomplices, bound family members in the home with duct tape, threatened to shoot them and demanded money, police said. The intruders fled with $15,000 in cash, $250,000 in jewelry and a 1986 Mercedes-Benz that was found abandoned the next day in La Crescenta.

Glendale Police Sgt. Lief Nicolaisen said officers were trying to determine why the family was targeted. He said the robbers did not match the descriptions of men involved in any other recent residential holdups in the city.
