J.R. Rider, Nevada Las Vegas’ leading scorer, had his eligibility restored by the NCAA, clearing the way for him to play in tonight’s game against UC Santa Barbara.
Athletic Director Jim Weaver said the NCAA reinstated Rider at the university’s request after a review of a possible infraction stemming from Rider’s arrest last month. Rider was declared ineligible after it was determined that UNLV academic adviser Ron Allen had paid his $200 bail after Rider’s arrest on charges of obstructing a police officer.
