The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday that it has seized what it calls the largest amount of child pornography in county history during a raid that produced thousands of magazines.

Up to 60,000 pedophilia magazines packaged on two large palettes were found at the undisclosed location in El Cajon on Wednesday, sheriff’s Lt. Gary Alschbach.

The magazines, valued at $300,000 to $500,000, feature children in sexually explicit poses and may be used by pedophiles to seduce children, Alschbach said.

The sheriff’s investigation, done in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service and U.S. Customs Service, began in Los Angeles three weeks ago and eventually led authorities to El Cajon.

Authorities also confiscated layout boards for the production of more magazines and think the find may be evidence of a child pornography network in the area, Alschbach said.
