Ventura to Add Open-Wheel Class
Ventura Raceway officials will hold an organizational and rules meeting for the upcoming stock car season tonight at 7 in the Agriculture Building of the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
The meeting is open to drivers, crew members and racing fans who want details about the eight-month racing season. More than 20 stock car events will be run on the quarter-mile dirt oval at the seaside venue.
In addition to its Street Stock, Mini Stock, and Modified Mini Stock divisions, Ventura will add the nationally sanctioned International Motor Contest Assn.’s open-wheel modified stock car division, which is similar to the NASCAR Grand American Division that premiered at Saugus Speedway last year.
