Woman Dies Trying to Cross Interstate

A 39-year-old woman identified as Sandra Bronson of Alpine died after being struck by a car on Interstate 8 in El Cajon, authorities said.

The woman exited the car while it was parked on the right shoulder after an argument with another person in the vehicle, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol said. She attempted to cross the westbound lane but was struck by a passing car and died at the scene at approximately 6 p.m., he said.
