7 Injured When 2 Cars Collide in Placentia
Seven men were hurt--two critically--in a two-car collision Saturday that blocked Placentia Avenue near the Riverside Freeway for nearly two hours.
The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. when the driver of a 1979 Pontiac headed north on Placentia Avenue lost control and crossed over into the southbound lane, where his car was struck by a 1979 Toyota, according to Police Lt. Chuck Babcock.
Two men in the Pontiac were critically injured and taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, one by helicopter. The other two men in the Pontiac and all three in the Toyota were treated for less serious injuries at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana and Anaheim Memorial Hospital.
