A Golden Hill man pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of his wife, whom he had married one week earlier.

Shawn Patrick Walker, 24, who remains in County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, will be sentenced March 16.

He was charged with the Nov. 17 slaying of Marilyn Walker, 19, who was found with a head wound after her husband called police to report the shooting in their home in the 2900 block of F Street.

San Diego Superior Court Judge Charles Hayes dismissed a murder charge. The prosecutors said Shawn Walker told police the shooting was accidental.
