GARDEN GROVE : Police Will Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Share

Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint tonight at Chapman Avenue and Somerset Place to take suspected drunk drivers off the street and to reinforce the message to sober drivers.

Officers at the checkpoint will be stopping cars randomly from 9 tonight to 3 a.m. Sunday. Police said they chose to operate the checkpoint on a holiday weekend during which there has historically been an increase in drunk drivers on the road.

Garden Grove Sgt. Jack Ray said checkpoints like this one can net six to 12 suspected drunk drivers.

Police will have signs and flares set up in advance of the checkpoint to alert motorists to slow down.
