“The Stones at the IMAX” it ain’t. And that ain’t bad. This hourlong video document of a single concert from Richards’ only tour as a solo artist, like the Keefer-man’s own timeworn visage, isn’t much to look at. Ostensibly shot strictly for his personal archives on low-budget 16 millimeter and finally unvaulted by popular demand, it’s competently shot and almost inert by today’s concert-vid standards. The primary reason to get it is the same reason for picking up the simultaneously released CD equivalent: The chance to hear a Rolling Stone making Mick-free music that harks back to the riff-heavy “Exile”-era glory days. Besides eight high-octane “Talk Is Cheap” selections, Keith rasps through an overlong reggae tune and two of his old token Stones lead vocals--with a third Rolling nugget, the Jagger-associated “Time Is on My Side,” wailed here in a smart move by Sarah Dash.
