Take Me Out Is Gulfstream Winner
Take Me Out took the lead inside the sixteenth pole and scored a one-length victory in the $50,000 Deputy Minister Handicap at Gulfstream Park on Saturday.
There was a stewards’ inquiry and a foul claim by the rider of Groomstick, who came in fourth, against Drummond Lane, who finished second, for alleged interference on the far turn. The video rerun showed that Drummond Lane came in a bit in front of Groomstick but there was no visible interference.
Ridden by Jerry Bailey, Take Me Out ran seven furlongs in 1:22 3/5 and paid $4.80 to win.
