‘Saigon’ Change: Broadway will have a new “Miss Saigon” on March 16, when Leila Florentino takes over the role of Kim from Tony-winner Lea Salonga. Like Salonga, the 27-year-old Florentino was born in the Philippines. She has lived in New York since 1984 and has worked for various New York bands. Salonga won Tony, Drama Desk and Theater World awards for her performance as the doomed Vietnamese heroine and played Kim in the original London production.
