NEWPORT BEACH : Debra Allen to Run for Municipal Judge
Attorney Debra Allen of Corona del Mar announced Monday that she will run for a vacant judicial seat at Harbor Municipal Court in Newport Beach.
The vacancy was created when longtime Municipal Judge Selim Franklin announced recently that he would retire from the bench. A primary election to fill the post will be held in June.
Allen made her formal announcement Monday evening at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel.
Allen, 44, served four years on the Costa Mesa Planning Commission beginning in 1979. She is a member of the Orange County Republican Party Central Committee and a past president of the Newport Harbor Republican Assembly.
