Nation IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : Decapitation Threat in Gotti Trial Tape

A voice identified as John Gotti’s threatened to decapitate the leader of a Greek gambling ring in secretly taped conversations played at Gotti’s murder-racketeering trial in U.S. District Court in New York. Prosecutors said the tape was recorded in January of 1990 from a bug the FBI planted at Gotti’s hangout, the Ravenite Social Club. In the tape, Gotti, reputed head of the Gambino organized crime family, tells an associate: “You tell this punk, I, me, John Gotti, will sever your head off!”
