Encinitas
A doctor surrendered to sheriff’s deputies Wednesday for investigation of sexual abuse of patients in his office, authorities said.
Dominick Ricci, 44, of Encinitas was arrested on suspicion of two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, Sheriff’s Detective Janet Ryzdynski said.
Ricci’s bail was set at $50,000. He was expected to be freed pending trial.
Ricci, a gastroenterologist, also works out of Scripps Memorial Hospital and has another office in La Jolla.
Ryzdynski said other sexual incidents allegedly have occurred and that detectives are seeking such information from patients. Ryzdynski can be reached at 966-3500.
