3 Students Arrested in Probe on Drugs
At least three Chula Vista junior high school students were arrested Wednesday, suspected of possessing LSD, authorities said.
The arrests occurred at Hilltop Junior High School after an investigation by the Chula Vista Police Department, Lt. David Miller said.
School administrators said there had been reports of a resurgence in LSD use among teen-agers in San Diego County.
A 16-year-old Mira Mesa high school student was killed in December by police officers as they tried to subdue him during an LSD-induced frenzy.
Detectives said the investigation at Hilltop is continuing and as many as nine students may be involved.
