Coming to Defense of Psychiatric Hospital
We take pride in giving the best care to our patients as part of our effort to expedite their recovery.
It isn’t bad enough that the public refuses to accept mental illness as a disease, now we have a staff writer from The Times disgracing our facility so that people who desperately need treatment will fear coming here because of the implication that we are only interested in their insurance.
I know this isn’t true. I have been a nurse at the Santa Ana facility for a year, and I can’t remember any doctor ever refusing to treat a patient because of a lack of funds.
In discussing the issue of under-staffing, how could the reporter possibly think that any hospital is without incident? CPC Santa Ana makes every attempt to provide the safest environment for our patients, but it is not possible to be incident-free.
As for our medical director, our administrator and our director of nursing, they are the most dedicated professionals I’ve had the opportunity to work with. The Times should have had the decency to interview any of them before publishing such a misleading article.
