Galanter Says Quote Pulled Out of Context
Contrary to a statement in your Feb. 6 article on Fox’s key-group meeting, I am not skeptical about the gathering. In fact, I wasn’t even talking about that meeting in the interview with your reporter.
The question I actually answered had to do with whether I agreed with your reporter’s contention that the news media should not be banned from this type of meeting. I replied that, in my view, that depended on whose meeting it is.
Most of our conversation dealt with how controversial projects are handled in my district. I have appointed citizen planning advisory committees in several areas. Their job is to review proposed local projects in public session. We also encourage developers to hold their own dialogues with any and all interested groups.
In the future, I hope your reporters will refrain from pulling quotes out of context to fit what they wished I had said.
