Ending a two-hour hearing before a standing-room-only crowd, a San Diego Superior Court judge sentenced a 22-year-old man to 50 years to life in state prison for killing two people in Pacific Beach.

Numerous relatives and friends of the two victims urged Judge Allan Preckel to order Jason Anderson, 22, to two 25 years to life terms, to run consecutively.

Anderson’s attorney, Glorene Franco, and his parents and friends asked the judge to let the sentences run concurrently.
