Pomona : Hearing on Racial Tension
The county Commission on Human Relations will have a public hearing today to discuss racial tension in the city.
Census figures for 1990 show that about 51% of Pomona residents are Latino, 28% are Anglo, 14% black and 6% Asian. In 1970, the city was 16% Latino, 71% Anglo, 12% black and 1% Asian.
The hearing will be from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers, 505 Garey Ave.
