Wayde Preston, 62, star of the “Colt .45” TV series from 1957 to 1959 who walked off the show in a dispute over his $250-a-week salary. Preston, who portrayed an undercover agent masquerading as a gun salesman, left Hollywood to film Westerns in Italy, where he worked regularly, making such pictures as “Anzio” and “A Man Called Sledge.” He returned to the United States but never achieved star status. In Lovelock, Nev., on Feb. 6 of cancer.
