County Grant to Help Train Student Nurses
The Nursing Department at Pasadena City College has received a $50,000 grant from the county to help train more nurses.
The grant will fund an additional faculty member and 20 additional students at PCC.
In a related program, the county will give scholarships to nursing students who in return are obligated to work in county health facilities for four to seven years, depending on the amount of money they receive.
PCC nursing student Zanobia Ivory received a $2,500 scholarship as part of the program.
