Landfill Ignorance

Share

After attending the North County Cities Coalition for Solid Waste issues meeting on Jan. 24, I was amazed to think that even there, so many people don’t know the basic difference between the Campo landfill and the La Posta hazardous waste incinerator and recycling facility.

They are both planned for Indian reservations, but the similarity ends there. North County was looking into shipping trash by train to the Campo landfill in East County.

The proposed La Posta hazardous waste incinerator will be accepting hazardous waste from all over California to the tune of 50 trucks a day up and down all of our freeways. Have them keep their own.
