Residents Being Asked to Join Security Patrol
The Concerned Citizens League of the Marina Peninsula, the mile-long beach community between Marina del Rey and the ocean, is attempting to organize a private security patrol for the neighborhood.
Today and again next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., league members will staff registration tables along Speedway to sign up residents for the patrols.
League President Lowell Safier said the initial cost of the patrols will be $30 per month for homeowners and $20 a month for renters. The extent of the patrols--the number of security guards participating and the number of hours--will be determined by how many people sign up, he said.
Residents seeking information about the security patrol plan and other league activities may call the league at (310) 821-0565.
