COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Kansas Clinches a Share of Title With 77-64 Win

No. 3 Kansas defeated No. 12 Oklahoma State, 77-64, Monday night at Lawrence, Kan., to clinch at least a share of its second consecutive Big Eight title.
With Rex Walters scoring 18 points, the Jayhawks, 22-3 overall and 10-2 in the Big Eight, handed the Cowboys (22-6, 6-6) their fifth straight Big Eight road loss.
Byron Houston led the Cowboys with 26 points but did not have a field goal in the final 13 minutes.
St. John’s 65, No. 17 Georgetown 49--The Hoyas shot only 37.8% and were held scoreless for seven minutes in the second half at New York as the Redmen clinched at least a share of the Big East title.
The Redmen (18-8, 12-5) need to beat Seton Hall in their final regular-season game Saturday to win the Big East outright.
Alonzo Mourning had 17 points and six blocked shots for Georgetown (18-8, 11-6).
North Carolina Charlotte 79, No. 21 Tulane 69--Henry Williams scored 34 points to lead the 49ers to a victory in a Metro Conference game at New Orleans.
Tulane (19-6, 7-4) remains in first place in the conference, but Charlotte (19-9, 6-5) kept its title hopes alive.
OTHER GAMES
New Mexico State ended a three-game losing streak with a 78-70 Big West victory over Fresno State at Las Cruces, N.M. New Mexico State is 18-7, 10-6; Freso is 15-14, 6-11. . . . Tony Bennett scored 30 points to lead Wisconsin Green Bay (23-3, 14-2) over Valparaiso, 69-25, at Green Bay.
