HANSEN DAM : Antonovich Enters Trailer Site Issue
- Share via
County Supervisor Mike Antonovich said Tuesday that he intends to ask the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers to re-examine its rules barring dwellings from flood control zones.
A Times story Tuesday reported the problems of Eddie J. Milligan, manager of the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, who has moved onto the property two mobile homes in which he and his daughter plan to live. Milligan leases the land from the city of Los Angeles, which leases it from the corps.
The corps has objected to the trailers, saying it is not safe to have people living in a flood basin. But Milligan says the corps’s flood maps show that his trailers are situated above the 100-year flood level.
