The Orange Unified School District Board of Trustees has appointed a new administrator for its facilities and services department.

Howard Mason, chief executive officer of the Rancho Cucamonga-based Howard Mason and Associates Inc., will supervise district building maintenance, operations, transportation, construction and related services when he officially joins the district staff March 12.

Mason, 44, served as program management consultant and an interim director of the department while the search for a permanent administrator was underway. The post has been vacant since Bob Campbell resigned last fall.
