Diamond Bar : Noise Rules Recommended

Share

The General Plan Advisory Committee on Saturday recommended that the city designate areas where noise is excessive and establish development standards to protect building occupants.

The committee suggested that noise impact corridors be designated in areas where noise from freeways or industries is above an established level.

Any new construction could be required to incorporate sound-reducing features such as double-paned windows or sound walls. City planners and consultants would set threshold limits for noise and determine mitigation measures for each affected area.

The recommendations, added to the noise element of the revised Draft General Plan, will be reviewed along with the rest of the plan at a final meeting yet to be scheduled.
