Nevada Regents Plan to Question Maxson
University of Nevada regents have scheduled a closed-door session next Thursday to question Nevada Las Vegas President Robert Maxson about Coach Jerry Tarkanian’s resignation.
Some regents have called for an official inquiry into the UNLV athletic program. But regent June Whitley says Maxson privately has said he would quit if they ordered an independent probe into Tarkanian’s resignation.
Tarkanian wants an investigation into reports the UNLV administration leaked information damaging to the basketball program in an effort to get rid of him.
