Noticias del Mundo Ceases Publication: Noticias del Mundo, the 7-year-old Spanish-language daily newspaper owned by Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church, said it was ceasing publication of its Los Angeles edition, effective immediately. Publisher Phillip V. Sanchez said parent News World Communications has decided to direct its resources to starting other Spanish-language publications. Sanchez, who maintained that the conservative newspaper’s closing was not related to circulation or advertising problems, said News World had been providing less operating subsidy in recent years. The L.A. edition of Noticias del Mundo employed 60, Sanchez said.
