California IN BRIEF : SAN FRANCISCO : Special Tickets Ease Bay Area Commute
Many Bay Area commuters no longer have to fumble through their wallets looking for separate train and bus tickets. Transportation officials have introduced TransLink tickets, allowing commuters to hop between Bay Area Rapid Transit trains and some Contra Costa County buses with greater ease. TransLink is the first computer automated system in the United States that enables passengers to use one ticket for BART and the bus. Transportation officials, who are testing the system, plan to introduce the special tickets on BART’s San Francisco-Daly City line on Monday.
