Dance Gallery Plans Series at LATC

For its third season of lecture/demonstrations, the Dance Gallery’s “In the Works” series moves from Culver City to the Los Angeles Theatre Center downtown.

This will be the first “In the Works” season since Bella Lewitzky resigned as artistic director and from her other Dance Gallery responsibilities.

All programs begin at 3 p.m. on Sundays at LATC Theater 3, 514 Spring St.:

* March 22: Mehmet Memo Sander Dance Company (postmodern ritual) and Karpatok Hungarian Folk Ensemble.

* March 29: Ballet Pacifica and Malashock Dance and Company (modern dance).

* April 12: Karen Goodman (modern dance) and Isaacs, McCaleb and Dancers (modern dance).

* April 26: Oberlin Dance Collective (modern dance) and Joe Goode Performance Group (dance-theater).

* June 14: Linda Sohl-Donnell/Rhapsody in Taps and Pacific Dance Ensemble (modern dance).

* June 21: Alice Lo (Chinese traditional dance) and Lula Washington’s Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Theater (modern dance).

Each performance is followed by a reception. Panelists selecting the 1992 companies include Molly Lynch, Donald McKayle, Gema Sandoval, Judy Scanlin and Fred Strickler.
