Jane Brunwin; Personnel Director

Jane Brunwin, who served as personnel director for the city of San Fernando since 1977, has died at a Northridge hospital. She was 59.
Mrs. Brunwin died Sunday of cancer, said her husband, Bert Brunwin.
Born in Santa Paula, she graduated from San Fernando High School in 1951. Mrs. Brunwin began working for the city of San Fernando in 1963 as a clerk in the personnel department. In 1977, she was appointed personnel director and handled union negotiations for the city. She worked in the position until October, when she took medical leave.
In addition to her husband of 1 1/2 years, Mrs. Brunwin is survived by her sons, Mark Herran of San Fernando and Bob Herran of Salem, Ore.; her mother, Cleatis Nelson of Highland Park; brothers, Don Nelson of Riverside and Ken Nelson of Tucson, Ariz., and four grandchildren.
A funeral, with burial to follow, is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 N. Sierra Highway, Newhall. Utter-McKinley Mortuary in Mission Hills is handling the arrangements. Donations can be made in Mrs. Brunwin’s name to the Simonton Cancer Center, P.O. Box 890, Pacific Palisades 90272.
