COUNTYWIDE : Airport Officials To Consider Alternates
- Share via
Members of the authorities that oversee operations at the Camarillo and Oxnard airports will decide today whether to appoint two Ventura County residents as alternate members to the boards, an airport official said.
In a scheduled joint meeting of the Camarillo and Oxnard Airport Authorities, board members are expected to set up a committee to evaluate applications if they decide to fill the alternate positions.
Each board is made up of one City Council representative from each city, two members of the County Board of Supervisors and a local citizen, said Nona Makinson, airport operations manager.
Alternates sit as board members in the absence of the appointed public representatives.
The authorities are charged with overseeing the airports’ budgets, expenditures, and applications for federal and state grants, as well as making policy decisions on airport operations.
