Failed Connector Causes Power Outage
An underground electrical connection failed in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday evening, cutting off power to 1,050 customers for more than an hour, a spokesman with Southern California Edison reported.
Willie Claytor, an Edison supervisor, blamed the 7:33 p.m. outage on an “elbow” connector that failed for an unknown reason in an underground electrical vault near Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Los Feliz Drive.
Power was restored to half of the customers by 8:52 p.m., and to most of the remaining customers by 9:18 p.m., Claytor said.
