BURBANK : Council Approves Parking District

The Burbank City Council has approved formation of a downtown parking district.

Officials said a program to manage parking is needed because of the success of several new movie theaters and restaurants.

Under the program, approved Tuesday, signs will be erected to direct motorists to parking lots. The plan also calls for the installation of parking meters on streets and in city-owned parking lots.

Businesses will be asked to share parking with firms that operate on other timetables, officials said.

The district will cover an eight-block area bounded by Magnolia Boulevard, Angeleno Avenue, 3rd Street and 1st Street.
