YORBA LINDA : Library Undergoing 3-Month Renovation
- Share via
Patrons of the Yorba Linda Public Library are being asked to use facilities in Placentia, Anaheim, Fullerton and Brea during a three-month renovation project.
Library officials believe that it will take 10 to 12 weeks to move from the temporary trailers stationed in the parking lot that have served as the library for the past two years.
The redesigned 30,000-square-foot library provides greater convenience and space for the public, with more seating and parking spaces and more shelving for books and videos.
Among the changes are a new children’s department, two conference rooms and a centralized reference and information desk. A separate Friends of the Library bookstore that will sell used books among other items has also been added.
The library decided to undergo the improvements to accommodate the city’s population, which at 54,000 is five times the size that it was when the library opened in 1959.
