Walnut : New Cable Programming

Share

In a bid to increase viewership of city-sponsored cable programming, the City Council last week approved an expanded format that triples the number of broadcast hours.

The council agreed Wednesday to repeat its two-hour program on Cencom Cable’s Channel 56 in two new time slots. The new broadcasts will be from 6 to 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Sunday.

Channel 56 programming, which includes coverage of high school football and basketball games and a half-hour public affairs show called “A Week in Walnut,” currently airs from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no programming Monday.

The broadcast expansion does not require new expenditures because it involves no new programming.
