Dornan’s Reaction to Opposition Illustrates Arrogance of Incumbents

Share

Judith Ryan deserves celebrity status. She’s the first candidate who has dared to challenge Bob Dornan in six terms in a row. Did I get that right? Six uncontested elections--and on the seventh he gripes?

Is that arrogance or what?

Could it be, like Dornan says, that Judith Ryan can “hurt the President of the United States”? Wow! That’s a power woman!

And heaven forbid that Dornan should have to cut short his junketing around after Bush and come home to Orange County and talk to us. What a bother! To think he may be forced to come out of his incumbent entrenchment in Washington for the very first time in 14 years!

He thinks that running against Judith Ryan is “ludicrous and silly, and destructive to any future she would have with the party,” and he’s not going to “worry about it very much because she’s not going anywhere.” Ha! Wanna bet?
